What is covered by the registration fee?

The registration fee covers:

  • All conference materials
  • Hotel A/V costs
  • Wifi for attendees
  • Networking session on Tuesday evening, May 30
  • Breakfast, lunch and breaks on Wed, May 31
  • Breakfast, lunch and breaks on Thursday, June 1
  • Breakfast and breaks on Friday, June 2

Do I need to book my own lodging?

Yes, you need to book your own lodging; this is NOT covered by the registration fee.

Is my project required to present a poster?

Projects are strongly encouraged to present a poster. This includes both newly funded projects and those that have been funded for 1+ years.

Who can present a poster?

Any project or group attending the conference is welcome to present a poster.

You must register to present a poster.

All poster requests will be accepted if space allows. If space becomes an issue, projects or authors who have requested >1 poster will be asked to select one for presentation.

How do I propose a breakout session?

Conference participants are invited to organize breakout sessions (1.25 hr) addressing topics of interest to science education projects.

Breakout session proposals are due Monday, April 3.

How do I propose a short session?

Conference participants are invited to propose short sessions:

  • Short talk
  • Roundtable presentation or discussion
  • “Lemonade stand”
  • Educational materials
  • Multimedia materials

Will there be Wi-fi?

Yes, Wi-fi will be provided in the conference areas.

Free Wi-fi will also be available in the hotel lodging rooms for all those who register through the conference lodging reservation website

What is provided for presentations in the breakout rooms?

Proposers may request:

  • LCD projector and screen
  • Large paper on an easel & markers
  • In the plenary room, which is also used as a breakout room:
  • Wired internet connection
  • Audio speakers

What is the SEPA New PI Meeting?

The PI’s of all newly-funded SEPA projects are very strongly encouraged to meet with Dr. Tony Beck, the SEPA Program Officer, over breakfast on Thursday, June 1. The meeting will begin at 7:20am.

All PI’s who were awarded a new grant in the past year are strongly encouraged to attend; other PIs are welcome to attend.

The room for this meeting will be listed in the conference program.

Is childcare available?

Onsite childcare can be individually arranged through NannyTainment Event Childcare. They provide insured, verified, and certified caregivers for children ranging from infants to school-age.
